Midea Malta General Warranty Policy
There appear on this Warranty Policy, Two K Homes Ltd (C106498), of ETV Central Hub, Tal-Qenc Warehouse Complex, Sqaq il-Qenc, Zebbug, ZBG4062, Malta’s Official Distributor of Midea Appliances, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Company’, the Appliance, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Equipment’ and the purchaser of such Equipment, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Customer’.
The Company warrants that the Equipment, shall be free from defects for the period stated below (according to the type and use of Equipment) on parts and labour.
Standard Warranty - The Equipment shall be free from defects on parts and labour for the period specified below (unless otherwise specified in writing) depending on the Equipment type starting from date of delivery / purchase or from the date on which the Company’s technician connects the Equipment (in case of Delayed Guarantee) whichever the latest:
For the purpose of this Warranty Certificate, “Delayed Guarantee” is when the Customer upon purchase requests in writing that the commencement date of the warranty is delayed by a period of time (and not more than 1 calendar year) due to his intentions of not using the Equipment immediately. In such case, the Customer shall make an appointment with the Company’s technician to connect the Equipment and open its warranty before using the equipment. The warranty shall automatically commence if the Customer does not request the connection of the Equipment by the Company’s technician within 1 calendar year from delivery. Delayed Guarantee shall only apply for type ‘b’ equipment.
Extended Warranty – Where the equipment is of type ‘c’ above, the Company further extends the warranty of the Equipment for another 3 years on the tank against leakages from the inner tank.
Pressure Vessel – Where the equipment is of type ‘c’ above, for the warranty to be valid, the following pressure vessels must be installed:
Conditions of Warranty:
The warranty shall be void and deemed renounced by the Customer under the following circumstances:
i. Unauthorized Installation: If the Equipment is not installed by the Company’s authorized installers, the warranty shall automatically be void. This includes any installation that fails to conform with local Electrical Installations Regulations, IET/IEE Wiring Regulations, or standard industry practices such as inadequate earthing or incorrect cable cross-sections.
ii. Non-compliance with Manufacturer’s Instructions: The warranty shall not apply if the Equipment is not installed according to the specified manufacturer’s diagrams or instructions, including but not limited to incorrect positioning or connection of the Equipment. The warranty will also be void if the Equipment is operated outside the parameters of use specified by the manufacturer or contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions.
iii. Improper Maintenance and Use: The warranty shall be void if the Equipment is improperly maintained, not protected by an over-voltage regulator (OVR), tampered with, or operated outside its working limits. Negligence, misuse, or lack of reasonable care, as expected from a ‘bonus pater familias,’ will also result in the voiding of the warranty.
iv. Environmental and External Factors: The warranty shall not cover damages if the Equipment is exposed to very warm, non-ventilated rooms, or adverse outdoor environmental conditions. It also excludes damage, malfunction, or breakdowns due to poor quality water or substances, acts of God, power surges, modifications to the electrical installation or the Equipment itself, accidents, or damage caused by foreign objects, and any other factors beyond the Company’s direct control.
