Midea Warranty Terms

 

 

Midea Malta General Warranty Policy

 

 There appear on this Warranty Policy, Two K Homes Ltd (C106498), of ETV Central Hub, Tal-Qenc Warehouse Complex, Sqaq il-Qenc, Zebbug, ZBG4062, Malta’s Official Distributor of Midea Appliances, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Company’, the Appliance, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Equipment’ and the purchaser of such Equipment, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Customer’.

The Company warrants that the Equipment, shall be free from defects for the period stated below (according to the type and use of Equipment) on parts and labour.

 

Standard Warranty - The Equipment shall be free from defects on parts and labour for the period specified below (unless otherwise specified in writing) depending on the Equipment type starting from date of delivery / purchase or from the date on which the Company’s technician connects the Equipment (in case of Delayed Guarantee) whichever the latest:

  1. Midea Small Domestic Appliances – 2 Years
  2. Midea Main Domestic Appliances 2 Years
  3. Midea Water Heaters – 2 Years

 

For the purpose of this Warranty Certificate, “Delayed Guarantee” is when the Customer upon purchase requests in writing that the commencement date of the warranty is delayed by a period of time (and not more than 1 calendar year) due to his intentions of not using the Equipment immediately.  In such case, the Customer shall make an appointment with the Company’s technician to connect the Equipment and open its warranty before using the equipment.  The warranty shall automatically commence if the Customer does not request the connection of the Equipment by the Company’s technician within 1 calendar year from delivery.  Delayed Guarantee shall only apply for type ‘b’ equipment.

Extended Warranty – Where the equipment is of type ‘c’ above, the Company further extends the warranty of the Equipment for another 3 years on the tank against leakages from the inner tank.

Pressure Vessel – Where the equipment is of type ‘c’ above, for the warranty to be valid, the following pressure vessels must be installed:

    1. 10 Litres Water Heaters:
      1. A 2 litre pressure vessel shall be installed on the cold side of the Water Heater between the non-return valve and the water heater if it is supplied with water either directly from the mains or from a pressure pump.

 

    1. 30 & 50 Litres Water Heaters:
      1. A 2 litre pressure vessel shall be installed on the cold side of the Water Heater between the non-return valve and the water heater if it is supplied with water either directly from the mains or from a pressure pump.

 

    1. 80 & 100 Litres Water Heaters:
      1. A 3 litre pressure vessel shall be installed on the cold side of the Water Heater between the non-return valve and the water heater if it is supplied with water either directly from the mains or from a pressure pump.

 

Conditions of Warranty:

  1. The warranty is rendered null and void and shall not be applicable if the maintenance, servicing, repairs and all related works are undertaken by the Company through its appointed representatives and that the need thereof is brought to the attention of the Company by the Customer immediately that the need thereof arises.
  2. For the purpose of repairs or replacement under warranty, type ’a’ equipment shall be delivered by the Customer to the Company’s nearest Repairs Hub.
  3. For the purpose of repairs / replacement under warranty, for type ‘b’ and type ‘c’ equipment, the company’s technician shall visit the Customer’s Address in which such equipment is installed. The dismantling of the faulty equipment from its installed position, the installation of the replacement equipment and any high-up / cranage costs that might be needed to transport the Equipment to / from its location shall not be considered as part of this warranty.  
  4. For the purpose of repairs or replacement under warranty, both the original proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) and the warranty certificate must be presented to the Company.  The warranty is rendered null and void if the serial number is removed and of the contents of this warranty certificate have been tempered with, not properly or completely filled and stamped by the seller immediately after purchase.
  5. The warranty of type ‘c’ Equipment shall be rendered null and void and shall not be applicable in case of omission, malfunction or incorrect installation or maintenance of a safety valve resulting in over pressures. The Customer shall ensure that a safety valve is installed on the cold inlet and that no other device is connected between the safety valve and the inlet apart from the pressure vessel. The warranty for type ‘c’ Equipment shall also not apply in case of, tank corrosion with the magnesium anode being completely corroded, abnormal scaling of heating elements or safety devices, corrosion due to incorrect water connection or if the dielectric are not fitted (direct contact between iron and copper) and if the Equipment is switched on with tank not properly filled with water (dry heating).
  6. Warranty Exclusions:

The warranty shall be void and deemed renounced by the Customer under the following circumstances:

i. Unauthorized Installation: If the Equipment is not installed by the Company’s authorized installers, the warranty shall automatically be void. This includes any installation that fails to conform with local Electrical Installations Regulations, IET/IEE Wiring Regulations, or standard industry practices such as inadequate earthing or incorrect cable cross-sections.

ii. Non-compliance with Manufacturer’s Instructions: The warranty shall not apply if the Equipment is not installed according to the specified manufacturer’s diagrams or instructions, including but not limited to incorrect positioning or connection of the Equipment. The warranty will also be void if the Equipment is operated outside the parameters of use specified by the manufacturer or contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions.

iii. Improper Maintenance and Use: The warranty shall be void if the Equipment is improperly maintained, not protected by an over-voltage regulator (OVR), tampered with, or operated outside its working limits. Negligence, misuse, or lack of reasonable care, as expected from a ‘bonus pater familias,’ will also result in the voiding of the warranty.

iv. Environmental and External Factors: The warranty shall not cover damages if the Equipment is exposed to very warm, non-ventilated rooms, or adverse outdoor environmental conditions. It also excludes damage, malfunction, or breakdowns due to poor quality water or substances, acts of God, power surges, modifications to the electrical installation or the Equipment itself, accidents, or damage caused by foreign objects, and any other factors beyond the Company’s direct control.

  1. The Warranty is not transferable and only recognizes the original buyer.
  2. The Company shall not be responsible for any personal injuries and / or material damages and / or losses incurred in connection with the Equipment.
  3. The Equipment shall not be taken out of the Maltese Islands.
  4. If the Company’s technician is called onsite due to a fault which is not from the Equipment or which is not covered by warranty, a service charge of not less than € 65 including VAT shall apply.
